Vivek Sharma, New Delhi, India: In a historic development, the Newspaper Association of India (NAI), the largest media organization in the country, and K.R. Mangalam University have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to usher in a new era of academic and research collaboration. This groundbreaking partnership signifies a pivotal moment in the convergence of academia and journalism, with the aim of fortifying relationships between these distinguished institutions and facilitating joint initiatives in education and journalism.
Newspaper
Association of India (NAI), founded in 1993, is a colossal media organization
representing a diverse range of newspapers, journalists, owners, publishers,
and editors from every corner of the country. With over 10,000 members across
India, NAI has been dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the interests of
journalists for nearly three decades. Their mission is to fortify the fourth
pillar of democracy by standing alongside every journalist in the nation,
addressing the unique challenges faced by the media industry. On the other
hand, K.R. Mangalam University, authorized to award degrees under the UGC Act,
1956, is a prestigious state private university situated in Gurugram, Haryana,
India.
The
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized in a ceremony attended by key
representatives from both institutions. Dr. Vipin Gaur, General Secretary of
Newspaper Association of India, along with Secretary Ananth Kumar and Executive
Secretary Vikas Sharma, represented NAI, while K.R. Mangalam University was
represented by C.S. Dubey, Vice-Chancellor, Praveen Mahajan, Registrar, and
Dean Neeraj Khatri, among other faculty members of the School of Journalism and
Mass Communication at KRMU.The MoU outlines a comprehensive scope of

This partnership will promote academic and research collaboration in areas of
mutual interest, with the expectation of leading to collaborative research
projects, joint publications, conferences, workshops, seminars, and more.
Research
Collaboration: Faculty members from both institutions will engage in joint
research activities, ensuring the proper administration of research projects
and activities. Faculty Collaboration: Faculty exchange programs will be initiated,
allowing professors and experts from both institutions to deliver guest
lectures, organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and jointly guide
research projects.
This
historic collaboration represents an important milestone in promoting synergy between
the realms of education and journalism, facilitating growth, research, and
knowledge sharing within India’s vibrant media landscape. Both K.R. Mangalam
University and the Newspaper Association of India are dedicated to working
