GURGAON: Five projects, with total investments to the tune ofRs 10,000 crore, will be launched in the city under the state government's development scheme, for the state's golden jubileecelebrations to begin on November 1. They are among 16 projects to be launched across the state. Of the 11 projects that will be inaugurated as part of the celebrations, none are in Gurgaon.
The five projects are of different sizes, including two — a Global City and a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) — under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC), which are being developed in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with Haryana State Industry and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).
The other three include a long-pending multi-level car park and Vanijya Kunj, a 10-acre commercial complex, both in Udyog Vihar, and an industrial estate (logistics and warehousing) in Hazipur. "The list of projects was sent to us last month. In the run-up to November 1, we were asked to speed up," said a senior HSIIDC official at Gurgaon estate office.
According to information available, the cost of the Hazipur industrial estate, to be funded by HSIIDC, a central grant and loans, is estimated at Rs 189 crore. For the Global City project, the cost of land acquisition is around Rs 2,500 crore. The first phase of the MRTS — from Huda City Centre to Panchgaon Chowk — is estimated at Rs 3,500 crore, whereas the cost of the total project, which will connect Gurgaon with Bawal, is pegged at Rs 21,000 crore.
Officials said as per estimates of the Gurgaon estate office, the cost of the parking lot would be around Rs 50 crore.
The total investment may cross Rs 10,000 crore for 2016-'17, if the projects are launched as per schedule. While the industrial estate will be launched on November 1, others are slotted for 2017 launch. The launch of the MRTS is set for September 2017, while the other three are expected to be launched in March 2017.
