Ranveer-Arjun's
bromance has set the box office on fire, as the film's collections stand close
to Rs. 50 crore. The Valentine's Day release brought back the angry young man
to Bollywood.
"Gunday
Fri 16.12 cr, Sat 12.63 cr, Sun 15.18 cr. Total: Rs. 43.93 cr nett. India biz
only. Excellent!" tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The
film had opened to mixed reviews by critics, but looking at the current
collections, it seems to be on the right track.
"Gunday
landing cost: Rs. 50 cr [inclusive of P & A]. Chunk of the investment due
from Satellite rights [Rs 20 cr to 25 cr]. Gunday balance investment to be
recovered from India and Overseas theatrical, music and Home Video,"
Adarsh posted on Twitter.

Critics'
verdict
Gunday
is all slow-motion and swagger, with nods to Deewaar, Sholay, Kaala Patthar,
Kabhi Kabhie and sprinkles of John Woo’s doves and Butch Cassidy and the
Sundance Kid. READ MORE

Movie
review: Gunday is few notches short of a one-time watch
There
is bromance, romance, revenge, and spicy dialoguebaazi. In short, all the
'sholay' to light up a Bollywood bonfire. What Gunday does not have is soul and
enough glue to keep the moviegoer going through the length of the movie.
