One of the most popular on-screen jodis of Indian cinema — Govinda and Karisma Kapoor — shared screen space with each other after almost a decade on Wednesday when they shot for an episode of Sunil Grover's show, Mad in India - 100 % Desi show.
Their last film together was Shikari, which released in 2000.
The first episode of Mad in India, which will go on air this weekend, will see Baba Ramdev on the couch. The next episode will see Govinda and Karisma interacting with host and funnyman Manish Paul.
Manish said, "Interviewing them was fabulous. I have grown up dancing to their songs. So sharing stage with them was an honour. While Govinda was a great sport and said/did whatever I asked him to do, Karisma even obliged when I requested her to dance with me to Sona kitna sona haifrom Hero no. 1. It was a great evening for me. I think I have got a thing for women whose names start with K — Kirru (Kirron Kher for the uninitiated), Karisma, Katrina, Kareena and so on."
Later, Manish was joined by Sunil Grover as Chutki — a flirty, social network addict, hailing from the fictional city of Bharatnagar. Chutki's partners in crime were Dolly Ahluwalia as Mango Dolly and Shweta Tiwari as Katrina Mishra along with comedians Khayali, Siddharth Jadhav, Rehman Khan, Rajbir Kaur, Paritosh Tripathi amongst others.
Speaking about the episode, Govinda said, "I had last met Karishma around two and a half years back in Kolkata airport. Sharing screen space with her after almost nine years brought back so many memories. She came across as more matured and more beautiful. She has always been very sincere about her work. We also danced to What is mobile number from Haseena Maan Jaayegi." Notably, Govinda has also been a guest on Comedy Nights With Kapil, which Sunil left after an alleged tiff with Kapil and the channel.

Pointing out that the stir had given the MNS an edge over the Shiv Sena, senior party functionary Avinash Abhyankar said, "Our protest has eclipsed the Sena's 10 such public agitations in the last two years."
